CENTRALIA, Wash. – Two trains derailed in a Centralia rail yard Monday afternoon.
No one was hurt.
A BNSF train was slowly moving in reverse when it collided with a Union Pacific freight train entering the Centralia rail yard, according to BNSF spokesman Gus Melonas.
The BNSF train had one empty flat car derail, while the UP train had five cars derail.
None of the cars had any hazardous materials onboard.
Five Amtrak trains were either delayed or canceled by the derailment.
