NEWBERG, Ore. — A severed human foot was found in a dumpster at a boat ramp outside Newberg on Friday morning.
The foot was found at Rogers Landing Park just before 10 a.m., according to the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office.
A person looking for returnable bottles in the dumpster reported the foot, which was inside a gray Nike running shoe.
Investigators believe the foot matches another foot found on the Willamette River shore near Champoeg Park in July. They said it was possible that the shoe was picked up by a person cleaning up a beach and thrown away without anyone knowing a foot was inside.
The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information to call Detective Todd Steele at 503-434-7349.
