PORTLAND, Ore. — A person was found dead on a TriMet bus Thursday, but the circumstances and cause of death were not immediately clear.
The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office said the Portland Police Bureau, Portland Fire and Rescue, and TriMet Transit Police responded to a medical call about a person on a bus who was unconscious and not breathing, and they determined that the person was deceased. PF&R public information officer Rick Graves said the fire crew arrived at 12:16 p.m.
MCSO said it was a Transit Police investigation and stated that the medical examiner would determine the person's cause of death. Portland Police and TriMet both referred questions to the sheriff's office.
The sheriff's office did not release any further details about the circumstances of the incident and did not say precisely where it occurred.
This is a developing story and will be updated when more information becomes available.
