Person found dead in house fire in Aloha

A 911 caller reported seeing smoke coming from the window of a home near Southwest Zabaco Terrace and Southwest Ravenwood Street.

ALOHA, Ore. — Firefighters found a person dead while they were responding to a house fire in Washington County Sunday afternoon.

Around noon, a 911 caller reported seeing smoke coming from the window of a home near Southwest Zabaco Terrace and Southwest Ravenwood Street in Aloha, according to Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue. When firefighters arrived, they saw smoke venting from a window on the second story. Crews located the fire in a bedroom, and searched the home and found a person dead inside. That person had not been identified.

Firefighters were able to stop the fire from spreading to other parts of the home.

Crews had trouble moving inside the home due to an "extensive number of personal items inside the home," Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue said.

Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.

This is a developing story and it may be updated when more information becomes available.
