PORTLAND, Ore. — A man died after drowning in the river at Willamette Park in West Linn Friday afternoon, according to Tualatin Fire and Rescue.

At about 3p.m., firefighters responded to reports of a person flailing in the water near the dock at the park's boat ramp off of Volpp Street. The 911 caller stated the person had gone under the water and was no longer visible.

Crews from a nearby fire station arrived within minutes and rescue swimmers began to search the deep, murky water.
