Virginia's historic basketball loss is America's gain.
Little Caesar's had a promotion going that if a number 16 seed beat a number 1 seed in the NCAA March Madness Tournament, everyone in the U.S. would win a free lunch combo. The company called the effort "Crazy Happened!"
Well, crazy happened.
UMBC beat Virginia 75-54, the first time in the history of the men's March Madness tournament that a 16 seed won.

Shortly after the win was in the books, Little Caesar's announced that they would indeed make good on the promise (which, let's be honest, didn't seem likely that they'd have to do).
The combo will be offered on April 2 between 11:30 a..m and 1:00 p.m., and people have to mention the offer in the check out line. People will get a 4-slice Deep!Deep! dish pizza with pepperoni and one 20 ounce Pepsi product.
PLEASE READ!: Here's the fine print. This is only offered at participating stores. So please be sure to call ahead BEFORE you show up at the store to make sure they're going along with the promotion. Each location is under no obligation to honor the offer, but most will be part of the event.
There's also a limit of one lunch combo per family, and you have to make sure you place your order before 1 p.m. Even if you're standing in line before 1 p.m., if you haven't ordered, they won't give you the deal.
